Suspect Wanted in a Homicide: 400 Block of H Street, Northwest

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred in the 400 block of H Street, Northwest, on Saturday, February 3, 2018.


At approximately 5:45 pm, officers responded to a residence at the listed location. Once on the scene, they discovered an adult male suffering from multiple stab wounds. DC Fire and EMS responded and transported the victim to an area hospital. All lifesaving efforts failed and the victim was pronounced dead.


The victim has been identified as 56 year-old Gregory Monroe, of Northwest, DC.


The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public's assistance in locating Jose Luzunaris aka “Panama”. Luzunaris, pictured below, is currently wanted on a DC Superior Court arrest warrant for Second Degree Murder While Armed in the fatal stabbing of Mr. Gregory Monroe. He is described as a 52-year-old black male, 5’5” tall, 140 pounds, with a medium complexion. Luzunaris should be considered armed and dangerous.



The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
