Suspect Wanted in a Homicide: 3500 Block of Stanton Road, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Monday, March 19, 2018, in the 3500 block of Stanton Road, Southeast.


At approximately 4:37 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the report of the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers discovered that an adult male victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and had been transported to a local hospital for treatment. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.


The decedent has been identified as 22 year-old Aujee Tyler, of Southeast, DC.


The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public's assistance in locating 17 year old Kaevon Sutton. Sutton is currently wanted on a DC Superior Court arrest warrant for First Degree Murder While Armed in the fatal shooting of Aujee Tyler. Kaevon Sutton is described as a 17 year-old black male, 5’7” tall, 170 pounds, with dark brown eyes and black hair. Sutton, who can be seen in the pictures below, should be considered armed and dangerous.



The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
