The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in attempting to identify the individual responsible for a robbery.

That incident took place on Monday, April 3, 2006, at approximately 6 pm, at the intersection of 16th and Church Streets, NW. At that time, a lone male subject approached an adult male walking with the assistance of crutches. It was at this time that the suspect allegedly assaulted the man and forcibly took his rings and a bracelet from around his arm before fleeing.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5'9" to 6' tall, 140 to 160 pounds. He is further described as wearing a ring on his left hand with a ruby in the center surrounded by a "U" encased in diamonds.

The department currently offers a reward of up to $5,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any robbery committed in the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>District of Columbia.
