Suspect Sought in Armed Robbery: 1300 Block of Florida Avenue, NW

The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in connection with an armed robbery.

On Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at approximately 10:30 am, the suspect entered the Bill’s Cleaners  located in the 1300 block of Florida Avenue, NW and produced a black handgun from his waistband and demanded the cash register be opened.  The employee complied and the suspect took an unknown amount of US currency from the cash register and fled the location.

The suspect is described as a black male, dark complexion, mid to late 20s, approximately 6’0” in height with an average build, a close hair cut with an earring in his right ear.  He was last seen wearing a black skull cap, dark pants, a neon green shirt with an unknown logo on it and wearing a long sleeve white shirt underneath, black shoes with white shoe laces, black gloves, and armed with a black handgun.

Anyone with information that can assist in the identification of this subject is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any robbery committed in the District of Columbia
