Suspect Arrested in Homicide at 4205 4th Street, SE

Shortly before 8:30 pm on Thursday, January 5, 2005, police and DC Fire Department emergency medical personnel responded to the 4200 block of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>4th Street, SE, to investigate the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, they discovered a male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head lying in the rear of 4205 4th Street. Emergency medical personnel could find no life signs. He was taken to the Office of the DC Medical Examiner and pronounced dead.

The decedent was identified as 16-year-old Charles Cokely of the 4300 block of 3rd Street, SE.

 

On Thursday, March 2, 2006, 19-year-old Floyd Tomlinson, of the 300 block of 51st Street, NE, turned himself in to detectives at the Violent Crimes Branch, Located at 3244 Pennsylvania Avenue, SE. Tomlinson was wanted on an arrest warrant charging him with Murder II while Armed. He will be arraigned in DC Superior Court.
