Sexual Assault in the 200 Block of 51st Street NE

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in reference to a sexual assault which occurred in the 200 block of 51st Street, Northeast. 

On Sunday, September 23, 2012, a transgender female victim reported that she was walking in the 200 block of 51st Street, Northeast, Washington D.C., at approximately 4:45 am, when she was struck by a male suspect.  The suspect then forced her at gunpoint to a nearby location and sexually assaulted her and then stole her purse.  Afterwards, the subject fled the scene of the assault. 

The subject is described as a black male, in his early 20s, 5’7” to 5’8” in height, brown eyes, short braids, last seen wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, white sneakers, and armed with a handgun.
