Person of Interest Sought in the Sexual Assault in the 1900 block of 18th Street, SE

The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating and identifying an individual in reference to a sexual assault which occurred in the 1900 block of 18th Street, Southeast. 

On Thursday, July 12, 2012, a victim reported that she was walking in the 1900 block of 18th Street, Southeast, WashingtonDC, at approximately 4:50 am, when she was approached by a male subject who produced a handgun demanding money.  The complainant complied with the subject’s demand for money and the male suspect then sexually assaulted the victim. Afterwards, the suspect walked the victim to a nearby ATM machine and forced her to withdraw cash.  The subject was last seen walking east in the 1300 block of Good Hope Road, Southeast.  The suspect is described as a black male, with a medium complexion, 25-30 years old, 6’2”, slim build with dreadlocks in his hair and was armed with a black handgun.  A photo of the person of interest is attached.
