Person of Interest Sought in Homicide 3600 Block of Calvert Street, Northwest

(Washington, DC) - The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest in reference to a homicide which occurred on Friday, June 19, 2015 at approximately 10:28 pm in the 3600 block of Calvert Street, Northwest.


Members of the Second District received a call for an unconscious person in the 3600 block of Calvert Street, Northwest.  Upon arrival officers discovered an adult male, suffering from visible injuries from an apparent stabbing.  Lifesaving treatment was initiated; however he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 53 year-old Joel Johnson of no fixed address.

As the investigation continues, anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099.  Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.  The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
