MPD Officer Arrested for First Degree Sex Abuse of a Minor

(Washington, DC) – On Monday, March 16, 2015, at approximately 9:00 pm, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 45-year-old Darrell Best of Upper Marlboro, MD pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, charging him with First Degree Sex Abuse of a Minor. 

On Saturday, March 14, 2015, a 16 year old female reported to the Metropolitan Police Department that she was the victim of a First Degree Sex Abuse of a Minor on three separate occasions, starting in December 2014.  The perpetrator of these offenses was an off-duty MPD Officer Darrell Best, who is the pastor of her church God-A Second Chance Ministry Church located on Southern Avenue SE. As a result of an investigation initiated by MPD detectives of the Youth Investigations Division, a DC Superior Court arrest warrant was issued on Sunday, March 15, 2015 charging Darrell Best with First Degree Sex Abuse of a Minor. He was arrested in Largo, MD.
