Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the unit block of M Street, Northwest.
On Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at approximately 8:39 pm members of the First District responded to a call for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, members located an adult male victim unconscious and suffering from a gunshot wound. D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment where all lifesaving efforts failed.
The decedent has been identified as 28-year-old Jamar Morris of Northwest, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
