Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, in the Unit block of Galveston Place, Southwest.
At approximately 4:04 am, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for a shooting. Upon arrival, members located two adult male victims, inside of a residence, suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene. The first victim displayed no signs consistent with life and remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The second victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The decedent has been identified as 37 year-old Eugene Johnson, of Southwest, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
