Homicide in the Rear of 880 Eastern Avenue, NE

At approximately 5: 33 p.m., on Monday, October 29, 2007, police were called to the rear parking lot of 880 Eastern Avenue, NE, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located 21-year-old Phillip Michael Thomas, of the 800 block of 50th Place, N.E., suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the body and head. D.C. Fire Department emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, but could find no signs consistent with life. A member of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner pronounced him dead on the scene at 7:28 pm.

The case is under investigation by members of the department’s Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.

The department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
