At approximately 8:13 am on Tuesday, July 11, 2006, police were called to the rear of the 500 block of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>50th Place, NE. for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival they located 35-year-old Shante Dion Jordan, of the 50th Place address, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the body. DC Fire Department emergency medical personnel responded to the scene but found no signs consistent with life. He was taken to the Office of the DC Medical Examiner and pronounced dead.

The Medical Examiner has ruled the case a homicide.
The case is under investigation by members of the department’s Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.
The department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
