(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Thursday, June 25, 2015, at approximately 3:44 am.
While on patrol, members of the Seventh District observed a male lying in the street near the intersection of 16th and Galen Streets, Southeast, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 21 year-old Stephon Marquis Perkins of Maryland.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
