Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are currently investigating a homicide which occurred in the 4800 block of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>G Street, SE.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>
On Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at approximately 2:28 am, Sixth District police officers responded to the 4800 block of G Street, SE for the report of the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unidentified adult male in an unconscious state suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the body. He was later pronounced dead on the scene by a representative from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia.
An additional victim was located suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. That victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. The identity of the second victim is being withheld because the victim is considered a witness in this case.

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
