Homicide in Front of 1018 3rd Street, SW

At approximately 4:33 on the morning of Sunday, July 2, 2006, police were called to the front of 1018 3rd Street, SW, for the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival they located 20-year-old David Young Holt, of the 2400 block of Pomeroy Road, SE, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the body. He was taken to the Washington Hospital Center's MedSTAR Unit and pronounced dead. Police also located a 25-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the body and arm in the 200 block of Eye (I) Street, SW, and a 16-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the body in the 1000 block of Delaware Avenue, SW. Both victims were taken to an area hospital. The 25-year-old male was admitted in stable condition and the 16-year-male was admitted in serious condition.  Their names are being withheld because they are considered witnesses at this time. At this time it appears all three victims were involved in the same shooting that is believed to have taken place in the rear of 1018 3rd Street, SW.

The case is under investigation by members of the department's Violent Crimes Branch.  Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099. 

The department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
