Homicide: Alongside of the 2000 Block of Martin Luther King Jr., Avenue, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred alongside of the 2000 block of Martin Luther King Jr., Avenue, Southeast, on Monday, August 14, 2017.

 

At approximately 12:30 pm, Seventh District officers responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male inside of a vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene. The victim displayed no signs consistent with life and was pronounced dead. The victim remained on the scene until being transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

 

The decedent has been identified as 31-year-old Dante McNeil., of Southeast, DC.

 

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
