Homicide in the 900 block of 48th Street, NE

A 33-year-old man was found suffering from gunshot wounds.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred in the 900 block of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>48th Street NE.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>

On Monday, February 15, 2010, at approximately 11:30 pm, members of the Sixth District responded to an apartment in the 900 block of 48th Street NE for the report of a man down.  Once inside, they located an adult male suffering from multiple gun shot wounds. Personnel from the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department responded to the scene, but could find no life signs.

The victim, identified as 33-year-old Michael Dean Roy Talley of no fixed address later was officially pronounced dead on the scene by a representative of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia.  The body has been transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office pending an autopsy.

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.

Anonymous information may also be forwarded to DC Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS and to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411. If the information provided by a caller to Crime Solvers leads to an arrest and indictment, that caller will be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
