(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred in the 6100 block of Clay Street, Northeast. On Monday, February 16, 2015, at approximately 12:03 pm, officers from the Sixth District heard the sounds of gunshots in the 6100 block of Clay Street, Northeast. The officers responded to the area and located a male lying on the ground, unconscious, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body, in the 300 block of 61st Street, Northeast. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The decedent has been identified as 25 year-old Mr. Rico Myers of Northeast Washington, D.C.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
