Homicide in the 5300 block of 8th Street NW

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a triple shooting that has resulted in a fatality. On Monday, October 20, 2014, at approximately 2:43 am, members of the Fourth District responded to a call for the report of a shooting in the 5300 block of 8th Street, Northwest. Upon arrival, they located three adult males suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to a local hospital, where one of the victims, 29-year-old Jabari Fields of Landover, Md. succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
