Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Friday, September 21, 2018, in the 5100 block of F Street, Southeast.
At approximately 9:41 pm, members of the Sixth District responded to the listed location due to the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, members located an adult male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead. A second victim was also located at the listed location suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the second victim to a local hospital for further treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The decedent has been identified as 41 year-old Terrell Butler, of Northeast, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
