Homicide: 500 Block of Division Avenue, Northeast

A $25K reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) wanted for the homicide of 21-year-old Hubert Hunter.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the 500 block of Division Avenue, Northeast.

On Thursday April 10, 2014, at approximately 6:49 pm, police officers from the Sixth District responded to a call for the sounds of gunshots.  Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene and determined that there were no signs consistent with life.  The decedent was subsequently transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death.

The decedent has been identified as 21-year-old Hubert Hunter of Northeast, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
