Homicide: 4500 Block of Quarles Street, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the 4500 block of Quarles Street, Northeast, on Monday, February 22, 2016.                                                         

At approximately 5:38 pm, members of the Sixth District responded to the call for a man down.  Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.  Members of the DCFEMS arrived and rendered aid on the scene.  The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 21-year-old Deandre A. Sibblies, of Northeast, D.C.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.  Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099.  Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411
