At approximately 11:45 pm, on Friday, January 27, 2006, Metropolitan Police were called to the 4500 block of Quarles Street, NE, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an 18-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the back. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was treated and released.
Also located was 22-year-old Anthony Marquice Goldsberry, of the 4400 block of Quarles Street, NE, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the body. He was taken to the Prince George's Hospital Center and pronounced dead.
The case is under investigation by members of the department's Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.
The department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>District of Columbia.
