Homicide in the 4400 block of F Street, SE

A 22-year-old Waldorf, Md. man was fatally shot.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred in the 4400 block of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>F Street, SE.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>


On Monday, August 30, 2010, at approximately 11:30 pm, units from the Sixth District responded to the 4400 block of F Street, SE for the sounds of gunshots. Upon their arrival, they located a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services arrived and transported the victim to a local area hospital where he was pronounced dead.


The decedent is identified as 22 year-old Antonio Valdez Vela of Waldorf, MD.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.

If the information provided by the caller to the Crime Solvers Unit leads to an arrest and indictment, that caller will be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
