Homicide in the 4100 Block of Barker Lane, SE

At approximately 3:30 am, on Tuesday, February 28, 2006, Metropolitan Police were called to the 4100 block of Barker Lane, SE, for the report of sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival officers located 30-year-old David Reed, of the 1700 block of Bay Street, SE, suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the body and head.  DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel were called to the scene, but could find no signs consistent with life. The victim was subsequently transported to the DC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and pronounced dead.

The case is under investigation by members of the MPDC's Violent Crimes Branch.  Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.

 

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
