Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred on Friday, June 8, 2018, in the 400 block of Eastern Avenue, Northeast
At approximately 11:15 pm, members of the Sixth District responded to the report of a stabbing at the listed location. Upon arrival, members located an unconscious adult male suffering from multiple stab wounds. DC Fire and EMS transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead. A second victim, an adult male, sought treatment at a local hospital for non- life threatening stab wounds.
The decedent has been identified as 41 year-old Jamaal Nathaniel Chase, of no fixed address.
This homicide was under jurisdictional review by the Homicide Branch due to the close proximity to Prince George’s County. Further investigation has revealed that this homicide did in fact occur within the District of Columbia.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
