Homicide at 3805 Jay Street, NE

At approximately 3:45 pm, on Wednesday, February 22, 2006, Metropolitan Police and DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to Apartment #6 at 3805 Jay Street, NE, to investigate the report of an unconscious person. Upon arrival, they discovered and adult male suffering from undetermined trauma. Emergency medical personnel could find no life signs.


The victim, identified as 58-year-old Ronald Morton, of the Jay Street address, was pronounced dead on the scene by a staff member of the DC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The body was later transported by morgue wagon to the Medical Examiner's Office, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death..


The case is under investigation by detectives assigned to the MPDC's Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.


The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
