Homicide in the 3800 Block of Gramercy Street, NW

At approximately 9:20 pm, on Friday, January 6, 2006, Metropolitan Police were called to the 3800 block of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 /?>Gramercy Street, NW, for the report of a man down. Upon arrival police located 63-year-old David Rosenbaum, of the 3800 block of Harrison Street, NW, suffering from an apparent head injury. He was transported to the HowardUniversityHospital and admitted in critical condition.

On Sunday, January 8, at 7:10 pm, Mr. Rosenbaum was pronounced dead.


On Tuesday, January 10, the DC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the cause of death in this case was blunt force impact trauma to the head, torso and extremities, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.


The case is under investigation my members of the MPDC's Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.


The department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
