Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating the fatal shooting which occurred on 36th Street and Benning Road, NE.
On Thursday, October 25, 2012, at approximately 12:39 pm, units from the Sixth District responded to 36th Street and Benning Road, NE, for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel arrived and determined that the victim had no signs consistent with life. The victim was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where he was pronounced dead.
The decedent is identified as 31 year-old Anthony Antonio Watts of Northeast, Washington, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
