Homicide: 3400 block of 18th Street, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the 3400 block of 18th Street, Northeast, on Thursday, August 3, 2017.

 

At approximately 7:40 pm, Fifth District officers responded to the listed location for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located four adult males suffering from gunshot wounds. The first victim sustained life threatening gunshot wounds and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The other three victims sought treatment at area hospitals for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

 

The decedent has been identified as 29-year-old Jarvis Belle, of Northeast, DC.

 

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099.
