Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Thursday, October 11, 2018, in the 3200 block of 12th Street, Southeast.
At approximately 10:44 am, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult male, inside of a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services were summoned to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital. After all lifesaving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 27 year-old Roderick Thomas, of Southeast, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
