Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Sunday, September 23, 2018, in the 3100 block of Buena Vista Terrace, Southeast.
At approximately 12:17 am, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location due to the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, members located an adult male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and found that the victim displayed no signs consistent with life. The victim remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. A second victim sought treatment at a local hospital for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
The decedent has been identified as 45 year-old Juan Dwayne Jackson, of Oxon Hill, MD.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
