Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Thursday, December 13, 2018, in the 2900 block of Knox Place, Southeast.
At approximately 3:39 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the 2900 block of Knox Place, Southeast for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, members located a juvenile male, inside of a residential building, at the listed location, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 15-year-old Gerald Watson of Southeast, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
