Homicide: 2300 Block of Ainger Place, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the 2300 block of Ainger Place, SE.

On Saturday, September 27, 2014 at approximately 12:27 am, while responding to a call for disorderly subjects in the 2700 block of Bruce Place, SE, a Seventh District patrol officer was struck by gunfire in the 2300 block of Ainger Place, SE. The officer was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Other responding officers located the victim, 39-year-old Anthony Cornell Jones of Southeast, DC, who was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced dead

Further investigation revealed that another adult male had been shot in the 2300 block of Ainger Place, SE.  He was treated at a local hospital.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
