Homicide in the 2200 Block of Georgia Avenue, NW

At approximately 2 am, on Saturday, April 1, 2006, Metropolitan Police were called to the 2200 block of Georgia Avenue, NW, for the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival police located 22-year-old Delonta Jerome Kelsey, of the 1300 block of 5th Street, NW, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body.  DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to Howard University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.


The case is under investigation by members of the MPDC's Violent Crimes Branch.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>District of Columbia.
