Homicide at 219 50th Street, SE

At approximately 7:05 am, on Tuesday, December 13, 2005, Metropolitan Police were called to the playground area of the JC Nalle Elementary School, located at 219 50th Street, SE, for the report of an unconscious person. Upon arrival police located an adult black female, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. She was subsequently transported to the DC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and pronounced dead.


The victim in this case has been identified as 33-year-old Lakesha Parker, of the 4600 block of East Capitol Street, SE.

The case is under investigation by members of the MPDC's Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.


The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
