Homicide at 1929 Gallaudet Street, NE

At approximately 2:05 am, on Wednesday, July 12, 2006, Metropolitan Police were called to an apartment building at 1929 Gallaudet Street, NE, for the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, police located 23-year-old Michael Dorsey, of the 5000 block of Eagle Street in Capitol Heights, Maryland, in the hallway; he was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the body.  He was taken to the Washington Hospital Center?s MedStar Unit and pronounced dead at 3:23 am.

The case is under investigation by members of the department's Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.

The department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
