Homicide: 1900 Block of 18th Street, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in the 1900 Block of 18th Street, Southeast.

At approximately 4:00 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to a call for a shooting.  Upon arrival, members located an adult male victim unconscious and suffering from a gunshot wound.  D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment, where all lifesaving efforts failed. 

The decedent has been identified as 23-year-old Maurico Walker of Northeast, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
