Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the 1900 block of 16th Street, Southeast on Thursday, September 1, 2016.
At approximately 2:19 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the area and located a juvenile male suffering from a gunshot wound. Members also located an adult male, suffering from a gunshot wound in the 1900 block of 17th Street, Southeast. DC Fire & EMS personnel responded to the scene and transported both victims to an area hospital. The adult male victim is in critical but stable condition. The juvenile male victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced.
The decedent has been identified as 17-year-old Kevin Anthony Jackson, II of Southeast, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
