Homicide at 1709 8th Street, NW

At approximately 8:04 pm, on Monday, May 15, 2006, Metropolitan Police were called to 1709 8th Street, NW, for the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, officers located a 21-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body. The victim was taken to the Washington Hospital Center's MedStar Unit and pronounced dead. The victim's name is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin.

The case is under investigation by members of the department's Violent Crimes Branch.  Anyone who has information regarding this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.


The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
