Homicide: 1600 Block of Minnesota Avenue, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday, July 21, 2018, in the 1600 block of Minnesota Avenue, Southeast.

 

At approximately 9:15 am, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the report of an unconscious person. Upon arrival, members located an adult male victim, in an alley, suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene. The victim displayed no signs consistent with life and remained on the scene until being transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

 

The decedent has been identified as 37-year-old Michael Miller of Southeast, DC.

 

Detectives seek the public’s assistance in locating the decedent’s vehicle. The vehicle is described as a 2007 dark gray Lexus IS250 four door sedan. The vehicle has a Washington, D.C. license plate number of FN2337. The vehicle can be seen in the photos below.

 

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099.
