Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>Eastern Avenue, NE.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>
At approximately 2:45 pm on Wednesday, January 20, 2010, members from the Sixth District responded to the 1300 block of Eastern Avenue, NE, for the report of an unconscious person. Upon arrival at a residence at that location, officers discovered an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported by personnel from the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department to an area hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
The victim in this case has been identified as 41-year-old Keith Neal of the 1300 block of Eastern Avenue, NE.

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
