Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the 1200 block of W Street, Southeast, on Wednesday, August 9, 2017.
At approximately 1:00 am, Seventh District officers responded to the listed location for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from life threatening gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS arrived on the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 22-year-old Kenneth Ronald Davis Jr., of Southeast, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
