(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Friday, June 26, 2015, at approximately 11:45 pm.
While investigating the sounds of gunshots, Fifth District members located an adult male with apparent gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.
The decedent has been identified as 23 year-old Kevin Cortez Johnson, of Southeast, Washington.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
