Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the 1200 block of I Street, Southeast on Friday, November 25, 2016.
At approximately 11:42 am, members of the First District responded to the listed location for a report of the Sounds of Gunshots. Upon arrival, members located a juvenile female suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital. All lifesaving efforts failed and she was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 16-year-old Breyona McMillian, of Southeast, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
