Fifth Arrest Made in Arvell Stewart Alston Murder Case

A fifth suspect turned himself in to police.

Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced today that a fifth arrest has been made in the murder of 40-year-old Arvell Stewart Alston, who was shot to death in the 4300 block of 4th Street, SE shortly before 9 pm on Tuesday, December 1, 2009. A second victim, whose identity is being withheld due to witness status, was also shot during the commission of this crime.  <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>

On Monday, January 4, 2010, at 12 pm, 33-year-old Lynn Daniel Wilkerson, of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>Hyattsville, Maryland turned himself into police at the First District Police Headquarters. Mr. Wilkerson was placed under arrest pursuant to an outstanding arrest warrant. Like his co-defendants, Mr. Wilkerson has been charged with First Degree Felony Murder While Armed in the death of Arvell Alston. 

There have been four other previous arrests made in connection with this case.
