Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?><?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = U1 /?>Alabama Avenue, SE on January 12, 2010.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>
On Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at about 3:45 pm, officers assigned to the Sixth District and DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department personnel responded to the 4700 block of Alabama Avenue, SE to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside of a motor vehicle.
The victim, identified as 23-year-old Christopher Louis Jones of the 4400 block of G Street, SE, was transported to Prince George’s HospitalCenter where he was pronounced dead at 4:15 pm. The body was then transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the State of Maryland in Baltimore.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
