Fatal Shooting on 19th Street, NE

A 24-year-old Temple Hills, Md man was fatally shot.

Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred in the 1200 block of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>19th Street, NE., on the morning of June 26, 2010.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>

On Saturday, June 26, 2010, at approximately 1:43 am, Fifth District officers and DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the vicinity of the 1800 block of M Street, NE., for the report of a shooting.  The officers located an adult male shooting victim in an alley near the 1200 block of 19th Street, NE.  The victim was determined to have no signs of life and was later officially pronounced dead on the scene by a representative from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia.

The decedent has been identified as 24-year-old Brandon McClanahan of Temple Hills, Maryland.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.

If the information provided by the caller to the Crime Solvers Unit leads to an arrest and indictment, that caller will be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
