Double Shooting on P Street, SE

On Friday, July 7, 2006, at about 2:07 am, police and DCFD emergency medical personnel responded to the 1800 block of P Street, SE to investigate the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, they discovered two males, one suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and the other from a gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim who sustained multiple gunshot wounds was transported to Howard University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  He is identified as 21-year-old John Jackson, of the 1400 block of 18th Place, SE. 

The second victim was transported to an area hospital where he was admitted for treatment of a serious gunshot wound to the leg.  His identity is being withheld because he is a witness in the case.

The case is currently under investigation by detectives assigned to the Violent Crimes Branch.   Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.  

All calls to the Crime Solvers Unit are confidential and a caller need not give his or her name. If the information provided by a caller to Crime Solvers leads to an arrest and indictment, that caller will be eligible for a reward of up to $25,000.
